April 3rd - Kia has recently unveiled official images of the new K9, its flagship mid-sized sedan. This release showcases adjustments and upgrades in exterior details and configurations while retaining the same powertrain, featuring two V6 engine options. The new car features a paint color dubbed "Pebble Gray," adding an air of sophistication. Sporting a familial design language upfront, it boasts a large grille accented with chrome embellishments. Sharp headlights flank both sides, accentuating its luxurious appeal. However, when viewed as a whole, it bears a slight resemblance to the aura of an Audi.
The profile of the K9 is sleek and smooth, with an almost straight waistline running from front to back. Chrome accents adorn the window frames and lower part of the doors, enhancing the stately and dignified aura of the executive sedan. Additionally, newly designed deep gray multi-spoke wheels add a distinctly unique visual appeal. The rear is adorned with trendy full-width taillights, offering a distinct layered look accentuated by abundant chrome embellishments, thereby enhancing the vehicle's visual width from the rear. The interior largely mirrors the current model, featuring a fully digital instrument panel, a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and a floating touchscreen multimedia display. Ample physical buttons are retained, along with a classic analogue clock positioned below the central screen, a staple in luxury vehicles.
The new car features added USB-C ports and front seat massage function. The air conditioning system now includes a dry mode, eliminating moisture in the system to reduce mold and odors, enhancing the driving and riding experience.
In terms of power, the vehicle still comes equipped with two engine options: a 3.8L V6 and a 3.3T V6. The former delivers 315 horsepower and a peak torque of 397 Nm, while the latter produces 370 horsepower and a peak torque of 510 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It's available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
