Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a notice on the publication of the record and approval results of undergraduate majors for the year 2023. Jiangnan University has successfully obtained approval and record for three new undergraduate majors: Synthetic Biology, Electronic Packaging Technology, and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering.
These three new undergraduate majors are established in response to the needs of national strategies, industry development, and the economic and social development of Wuxi region. They have good teaching conditions and strong disciplinary foundations.

Synthetic Biology
This major is based on the integration of multiple disciplines such as food science, life science, chemistry, engineering science, and computer information. It focuses on research areas such as artificial cell factories and green manufacturing. The aim is to cultivate innovative and high-level talents who can adapt to the development needs of the biotechnology industry, possess a sense of patriotism and international vision, and solve scientific and technological problems in the field of synthetic biology.
