On March 17th, the Market and Consumption Forum of the China Electric Vehicle Hundred-Person Forum (2024) was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. JD Auto Care, as a representative of the automotive aftermarket industry, was invited to share its practical experience in the field of new energy. The head of JD Auto Care announced that starting from this year's Tire Festival, JD Auto Care will collaborate with five major industry associations and multiple well-known industry brands to launch the "Trade-in Old Tires for New" initiative, providing consumers with a safer and more affordable consumption experience while promoting the green and low-carbon circular development of the automotive industry. The day before, JD Auto announced a joint investment of 500 million CNY with brands to support the trade-in of old vehicles for new ones. This year's government work report proposes to promote the renewal and technological transformation of various types of production equipment and service equipment, and encourage the replacement of old consumer goods with new ones. Not only in the fields of major consumer goods such as household appliances and automobiles, but also with the continuous increase in China's automobile ownership, there is a huge demand for replacing old tires in the tire sector every year. On one hand, issues like not replacing old tires due to factors such as price pose significant safety hazards for driving. On the other hand, the low recycling rate and crude handling methods of waste tires cause serious environmental damage. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China's production of rubber tire casings reached 856 million units in 2022, while the amount of waste tires generated was 13.5 million tons, with only 6.5 million tons being recycled.
In response to this, JD Auto Maintenance, under the guidance of the China Association for Quality Promotion of Consumer Goods Safety, has partnered with the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People's Association and the China Tire Recycling Association. With the support of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Governance Special Committee of the China Association for Quality Promotion of Consumer Goods Safety and the Marketing Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association, JD Auto Maintenance, together with internationally renowned tire brands such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, GT Radial, and Double Star, officially launched the industry's first "Tire Replacement Program" during the JD Auto Maintenance Tire Festival on March 16th. Starting from this year's JD Auto Tire Festival, users who purchase and replace 4 old tires at JD online and offline channels and then switch to JD Auto Service Centers will receive a JD Auto MAX membership card worth 198 CNY. The card includes benefits such as free tire repair and 50% off car wash. JD Auto Service will also recycle the replaced old tires through specialized recycling agencies, utilizing advanced and environmentally friendly technologies for resource recycling. The "Old for New Tires" plan, a first in the industry, builds upon JD Auto's existing services like full liability coverage for tire models, double compensation for overpriced purchases, three-year worry-free quality assurance, and free installation at JD Auto Service Centers nationwide. This upgrade not only brings consumers a safe and affordable experience but also promotes green and low-carbon development in the automotive industry, signifying significant progress.
During the forum, JD Auto Service leaders shared insights on the theme "Cultivating a Smart Supply Chain and New Service Ecology, Building a Full Lifecycle Value System for New Energy Vehicles." They emphasized JD Auto's strategies in response to industry trends and pain points, including leveraging its ecosystem of over 600 million users to co-create brand value, facilitating efficient transactions through new channels for vehicle sales, establishing a comprehensive supply chain for automotive accessories, enhancing aftersales service networks, and promoting standardization and integration of parts and supply chains. As a crucial part of JD Auto's holistic ecosystem, JD Auto Service continues to upgrade in areas such as supply chain integration, building service networks, and new energy vehicle services, meeting car owners' lifelong needs for car maintenance services.
