On March 12th, foreign media reports have revealed that Korean netizens are upset upon discovering that the Japanese version of Shin Ramen comes with more ingredients compared to the Korean version.

Based on the details shared by netizens, the issue stems from the fact that the small cup version of Shin Ramen sold in Japan evidently contains more soup base than the domestically sold products.

Videos posted online demonstrate that the Shin Ramen exported to Japan is packed with a generous amount of dried vegetable soup base, including ingredients like green onions, chili peppers, and mushrooms.

What has infuriated Korean netizens is the realization that the equivalent products sold in Korea come with less soup base. Moreover, the Japanese version of the ramen has a larger quantity, is more delicately made, yet is relatively cheaper.

In response, a representative from the Shin Ramen company explained that due to the market conditions and food regulations in Japan, the composition of ingredients in the Japanese version of Shin Ramen is different, and it's not fair to compare it purely on price with the domestic products sold in Korea.

Some netizens have remarked that it's always been the case that Japan reserves the best quality products for domestic use, second best for Europe and America, and the rest for other countries. s_4fa2057e33dd4cc5b2a38d2874a809c8.jpg
