Recently, more and more information about the vivo X100s has been leaked, and after taking a look, I find it quite appealing.
Firstly, the vivo X100s will debut with the latest flagship chipset from MediaTek, the Dimensity 9300+. Normally, I have a bit of skepticism when it comes to MediaTek chipsets, but when it's vivo using it, I'm totally at ease. I'd even feel a bit uneasy if they switched to a Snapdragon processor!
The Dimensity 9300 speaks for itself; it's been widely recognized across various reviews for its exceptional performance, even surpassing the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 in gaming performance. It's undoubtedly the most powerful processor available right now.
In this semi-upgrade, the GPU remains unchanged, still featuring the Immortalis-G720 MC12. The CPU architecture also remains the same, with a configuration of 4 large cores and 4 small cores.
The only difference lies in the increase of the clock speed of the large cores, which has been bumped up from 3.25GHz to 3.4GHz. So, you could say it's essentially a pumped-up version of the Dimensity 9300, giving it that extra boost.
Let's dive into the most thrilling update for me - Vivo has actually equipped the X100S with a flat screen! Everyone, stand up!
If I'm not mistaken, the last model in the Vivo X series that featured a flat screen was the Vivo X70, launched three years ago. It's been three years, and finally, we have another flat screen making a comeback. I'm beyond excited.
According to insider info, the Vivo X100S sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED flat display on the front, with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 8T LTPO technology and 2160Hz PWM dimming technology.
Although it doesn't hit the 2K mark, 1.5K is still pretty good, offering lower power consumption and better battery life. It's a trade-off between display quality and battery performance.
Besides the switch to a flat screen, vivo has also equipped the X100S with a metal frame and a glass body, which feels really premium. vivo's design has always been solid, so I'm quite excited about it.
In terms of colors, besides white, black, and the signature cyan from the previous generation, it seems they've also introduced a titanium version this time, aiming to compete directly with flagship models from other brands.
When it comes to battery life, the vivo X100S is expected to be equipped with a battery of around 5000mAh and support 100W wired fast charging. This setup will surely put any concerns about daily usage to rest.
