On April 8th, the cost of insurance for new energy vehicles has been under scrutiny lately, appearing notably higher compared to traditional gasoline-powered cars.

At the Xiaomi Auto Huaxi LIVE City showroom in Beijing, sales staff revealed that the first-year insurance price for Xiaomi cars ranges from 6000 to 8000 CNY.

Consumer opinions on the new car insurance prices for Xiaomi SU7 vary. In the overall market for new energy vehicle insurance, the phenomenon of "owners feeling premiums are expensive while insurers claim losses" still persists and requires further improvement.

Recently, many Xiaomi SU7 car owners have disclosed their insurance plans, confirming this phenomenon.

It is understood that the basic version premium is about 6638 CNY, including compulsory insurance, commercial insurance, and driver and passenger accident insurance. The premium for the premium version is about 7036 CNY, with the main difference being the coverage amount for third-party liability insurance and other items.

According to publicly available data, the average premium for new energy vehicle insurance in 2023 was 4003 CNY per vehicle, while the average premium for traditional commercial vehicle insurance was 2209 CNY per vehicle, with the former being approximately 1.8 times the latter.

Some experts point out that there are significant differences between new energy commercial vehicles and private cars in terms of usage nature, mileage, and risk exposure, which have important implications for insurance pricing and risk assessment.

To address this issue, experts recommend that insurance companies develop different pricing models to differentiate between the risks of commercial vehicles and private cars, and reevaluate risk factors to more accurately determine premium levels. s_32cbc0bacd1a4277a41fd8c96b4d7cac.jpg
