March 20th news. According to domestic news sources, a woman in Anyang, Henan Province, recently placed her phone on her nightstand to charge while she slept, and the phone unexpectedly caught fire.

The woman woke up to the incident and handled the phone fire in a timely manner, but a hole was burned in the pillow on her bed, and there were burn marks left on the floor.

According to reports, the woman was using an iPhone XS that had previously had its battery replaced; Apple has yet to respond to the incident.

It has not been confirmed whether the phone battery replacement was done by Apple or if she was using a third-party charger.

Experts remind us to always be mindful about phone safety while charging, especially overnight, as a slight misstep could cause a serious fire.

Fire safety personnel pointed out that charging a phone for an extended period of time could lead to battery combustion or explosion, especially if placed on flammable materials during charging, which could have disastrous consequences. s_caf8c1cbf1e043218467d9ee131e421d.png
