On April 23, according to the latest data, Huawei's share of the smartphone market in China continues to rise, poised to surpass Apple.
Data released by Counterpoint Research shows that in the first quarter of 2024, smartphone sales in China increased by 1.5% year-on-year and 4.6% month-on-month, marking the second consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth.
In terms of sales rankings among manufacturers, vivo ranked first this quarter, followed by Honor and Apple.
Of note, Huawei performed exceptionally well this quarter, with a year-on-year growth of up to 69.7%, reaching an overall market share of 15.5%, on the verge of surpassing Apple's 15.7% share.
Compared to this, Apple's iPhone sales in the Chinese market have dropped by 19%, marking its worst performance since around 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Apple's replacement demand has also weakened.
According to Counterpoint's analysis, with Huawei rolling out more new models, it is expected to soon surpass Apple in the Chinese market.
