iPhone Losing Favor in China! Apple Releases New Financial Report: Revenue in Greater China Continues to Decline, Cook Responds

On May 3rd, Apple released its financial report, with a total net revenue of $90.753 billion for the second quarter, a 4% decrease compared to $94.836 billion in the same period last year.

The report indicates that the net profit for this quarter was $23.636 billion, a 2% decrease from $24.160 billion in the same period last year.

Breaking it down by region:

  • Revenue for Apple's Americas segment in the second quarter was $37.273 billion, slightly down from $37.784 billion in the same period last year;
  • Revenue for the European segment was $24.312 billion, showing a slight increase from $23.945 billion in the same period last year;
  • Revenue in Greater China was $16.372 billion, an 8% decrease from $17.812 billion in the same period last year;
  • Revenue for the Japan segment was $6.262 billion, slightly down from $7.176 billion in the same period last year;
  • Revenue for the Asia Pacific and other regions was $6.723 billion, a decrease from $8.119 billion in the same period last year.

Regarding the continuous decline in revenue in Greater China, Apple CEO Cook responded by stating that besides the iPhone, there are other aspects of the business in China that require effort, and they must not lose the Chinese market.
