Even though the release of the next generation iPhone 16 series is still several months away, there have been multiple leaks and rumors circulating about this upcoming lineup, showcasing various design renders.
Now, the latest leak once again reveals details about the appearance of the iPhone 16 series.
Recently, protective cases for the iPhone 16 have surfaced online, further confirming earlier rumors suggesting that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature a vertically oriented rear camera module design.
Based on the renderings that have surfaced online, it appears that the new device features a dual-camera setup on the rear, with adjustments made to the positioning of the lens assembly and flash. The two rear cameras are arranged vertically, and the rectangular camera module has been replaced with a pill-shaped design. Additionally, the flash module is positioned outside the rear camera module.
It's been reported that these design tweaks might be geared towards introducing spatial video recording capabilities to the iPhone 16, for better integration with the Vision Pro spatial computing device. Spatial video recording necessitates aligning two lenses vertically to ensure accurate computation of 3D spatial videos.
In addition to the new camera module design, the previously leaked iPhone 16 prototype also features a physical Action key similar to the iPhone 15 Pro, along with a hidden pressure-sensitive capture key for landscape shooting.
The overall exterior design of the iPhone 16 Pro series models remains similar to the previous generation products, but there will be new changes in terms of device dimensions.
Multiple leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger displays, increasing from 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches to 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. The adjustment in iPhone sizes might be related to Apple's plan to equip the iPhone 16 Pro with an under-display camera.
According to a previous report from Sina Technology, "The iPhone 16 Pro model, set to be released this fall, will undergo a major imaging upgrade, featuring dual 48MP sensors for the first time, with only the telephoto lens remaining at 12MP. This means that the new device's ultra-wide-angle lens will also enter the high-pixel era, significantly enhancing its shooting capabilities."
Additionally, a recent report from Sina Technology mentioned that the iPhone 16 Pro series will feature enhanced titanium metal processing and coloring techniques.
According to reports, this new technique will make the appearance of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max even smoother and more vibrant compared to the frosted finish used in the iPhone 15 Pro model. The improved manufacturing process will bring a glossy stainless steel look similar to previous Pro series iPhones, but the new titanium metal will be more scratch-resistant than stainless steel.
It's been noted that the frosted finish used in the iPhone 15 Pro results in a much duller appearance compared to previous Pro series models. The benefit of this technique is that it's less prone to fingerprint smudges and reduces the visibility of scratches.
There are also leaks suggesting that the iPhone 16 Pro series will offer brand-new "Space Black" and "Rose Gold" titanium color options, with "Rose Gold" actually being a golden hue, while "Space Black" might replace the existing black titanium color option.
Apart from the smartphone products, Apple is also expected to unveil new additions to the iPad series.
Previous leaks suggested that Apple was expected to release a new iPad Pro by the end of March or early April this year. However, the latest rumors indicate that Apple will delay the launch of the new iPad Pro with OLED panels until May this year. Interested individuals are advised to stay tuned for further updates.
