Pacific Tech News - The WWDC 2024 Apple Developer Conference is set to take place from June 10th to June 14th. During this event, the next generation of operating systems, including iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, are expected to be officially released. Almost simultaneously, media outlets have leaked information about the iPhone 16 series, which will run on the iOS 18 operating system. The overall design closely matches previous rumors. The new series will continue to feature the current Dynamic Island and rear camera design, with the Pro model's frame still made of titanium.
The iPhone 16 Pro has gotten a tad bigger due to its screen size bumping up from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches. The new dimensions are 149.6×71.4×8.4mm, slightly larger compared to the iPhone 15 Pro's 146.6×70.6×8.25mm. Below the power button on the right side frame, there's a new addition: a photography button for snapping photos and videos. This button also supports touch functionality for zooming in or out with a swipe action. Additionally, the mmWave module, previously located in models for the US and other markets, has been moved to just below the left side volume buttons. As for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, rumors suggest a shift to a vertical dual-camera setup on the back and the silent switch being replaced with a physical button. Similar to the Pro version, a new photography button will be added to the right side, with most other aspects remaining unchanged.
