On May 10th, the iPad Pro 2024 debuted with the all-new Apple M4 chip. This chip scored 3767 in single-core and 14677 in multi-core on Geekbench 6.
The GPU benchmark for the M4 has also surfaced on Geekbench 6. The M4 achieved a score of 53792 in the Metal test, showing an approximate 20% increase compared to the iPad Pro M2, which scored around 45000 in Geekbench 6 Metal tests.
It is reported that the M4 chip is built on TSMC's 3nm process, with 2.8 billion transistors. The chip features 10 cores, including 4 performance cores for single-threaded performance and responsiveness, and 6 efficiency cores for multi-threaded performance and power efficiency.
Compared to the M2 chip, the M4 chip offers a CPU performance boost of up to 1.5 times.
On the GPU side, the chip boasts a new 10-core GPU that leverages Apple's dynamic cache feature to dynamically allocate local memory in real-time within the hardware, significantly enhancing performance for professional and gaming applications.
Furthermore, with hardware-accelerated ray tracing technology and mesh shading capabilities, the GPU also delivers exceptional rendering power.
