As of March 14th, despite the frequent chants of "AMD YES" and the impressive performance of Ryzen processors in recent years, Intel continues to reign supreme in the PC processor market. This assertion is strongly supported by data from market research firm Canalys. s_788b437a69e64f90a1143e5369612151.jpg In the fourth quarter of 2023, statistics reveal that Intel shipped around 50 million PC processors, marking a 3% year-on-year increase and securing a staggering 78% market share.

During the same period, AMD shipped approximately 8 million processors, experiencing a 1% decline compared to the previous year, resulting in a corresponding market share of 13%.

In simpler terms, Intel's processor volume surpasses AMD's by more than sixfold!

Apple takes the third spot with shipments of around 6 million processors, witnessing a 4% year-on-year decrease.

Mediatek, Qualcomm, and ARM barely made a dent in the market, although Mediatek saw a notable surge of 27%, primarily driven by Chromebook sales, while Qualcomm dipped by 17%, pending the release of the Snapdragon X Elite.

In terms of revenue, Intel raked in approximately $41 billion for the quarter, marking a 2% annual increase. AMD, on the other hand, garnered around $5 billion, reflecting a 6% annual increase. This places AMD's revenue at less than one-eighth of Intel's, highlighting the double-edged sword of cost-effectiveness.

Furthermore, Apple's revenue amounted to approximately $8 billion, significantly surpassing AMD, with an 8% annual growth rate.

Mediatek, Qualcomm, and ARM barely made a mark in terms of revenue, with Qualcomm experiencing a substantial 81% decline. s_589e557135664808ad37cd837c89116d.jpg In terms of PC manufacturers, Lenovo leads the pack contributing up to 25% of Intel processor shipments, followed by HP at 23%, Dell at 19%, Acer at 7%, and Asus at 6%.

On the AMD side, Lenovo still holds the top spot, accounting for a whopping 40% of shipments, followed by HP at 29%, Asus at 14%, and Acer at 6%.

For MediaTek, Lenovo dominates with 52%, Acer follows with 34%, and Asus with 13%. Meanwhile, Qualcomm sees the majority of its shipments going to Acer at 83%, with Asus at 17%. s_4eb325b7d5824c5b8698f89f5e5ce3dd.png
