Reportedly, on March 25th, supply chain sources have confirmed the commencement of supplies for the Huawei P70 series, with an anticipated launch scheduled for April.
Renowned for its cutting-edge imaging capabilities, the P series represents Huawei's flagship lineup, and this release is expected to feature the most powerful specifications to date.
It's been leaked that the P70 is expected to have AI photography as its core highlight, with the inclusion of Huawei's self-developed PanGu large model. This model allows for AI processing of captured images, enhancing clarity and detail, similar to the AI technology introduced by Xiaomi for telephoto photography. Previously, in the HarmonyOS 4 system, Huawei used the PanGu large model to make the Xiaoyi voice assistant smarter and supported functions like generating copy. Integrating it into imaging will undoubtedly make the algorithms more accurate.
In terms of hardware, the top-of-the-line P70 Art will feature the Sony IMX989 sensor as its main camera, boasting a complete 1-inch sensor, making it Huawei's largest sensor flagship to date. Apart from the ultra-large cup model, the P70 this time also comes with a standard 50-megapixel ultra-large sensor main camera and a periscope telephoto lens as standard across the system, offering impressive imaging capabilities even in the standard version.
In terms of core aspects, the P70 series will remain consistent with the Mate 60, featuring the Kirin 9000S chipset and supporting 5G.
It's been reported that internally at Huawei, the P70 series is positioned as more important than the Mate series, carrying the crucial responsibility of reclaiming the top spot in imaging.
