Ideal MEGA In-car Cameras Capturing Pornographic Images: Ministry of Justice Denounces Disinformation

La Mu Mon, Apr 15 2024 09:55 AM EST

On April 15th, the Ministry of Justice addressed rumors surrounding Ideal MEGA vehicles supposedly leaking owners' privacy due to in-car cameras, following similar claims made against another automaker last week.

The legal department of Ideal Cars has promptly refuted these allegations, stating:

Recently, Ideal Cars received reports from users claiming to have seen pornographic images allegedly captured by in-car cameras of Ideal MEGA vehicles circulating in WeChat groups.

We hereby solemnly declare: Of the over 700,000 Ideal MEGA vehicles delivered, none are equipped with sensors capable of remote viewing or storing images, audio, or video. We prioritize privacy, with even the dashcams allowing only local storage by the owner, without recording audio.

Ideal Cars respects and safeguards user privacy and security, ensuring all data processing complies with relevant national laws and regulations.

Criminals, through deceptive means, are utilizing devices outside of vehicles to capture pornographic images and then spreading them via WeChat groups, employing despicable tactics that constitute serious illegal behavior.

Ideal Cars has collected evidence of this disinformation and promptly reported it to the police.

We have zero tolerance for any attempts to defame our company through illegal means and will pursue legal action to hold the perpetrators accountable, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Ideal Cars and its users.

We urge the public to discern the truth and refrain from believing or spreading rumors. s_130bb517b93a4f1eaa513ee4fd2e092f.jpg
