March 17th, Intel has recently unveiled the limited edition i9-14900KS, boasting a stock clock speed of up to 6.4GHz. However, this is just the beginning of its capabilities as the ASUS ROG overclocking team swiftly pushed it to a staggering 9.1GHz.

Under the leadership of Elmor, the ROG overclocking team achieved this feat utilizing their own ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX motherboard. They managed to coax the i9-14900KS to a remarkable frequency of 9117.75MHz (with a base clock of 100.19MHz and a multiplier of 91x), duly certified by CPU-Z.

Remarkably, only 8 of the large cores were activated during this overclocking endeavor, with hyper-threading disabled along with all small cores. Furthermore, only one core reached the impressive 9.1GHz mark, while the remaining seven cores operated at a modest 3.2GHz.

Of particular interest is the fact that CPU-Z displayed a core voltage of "only" 1.425V, a testament to the remarkable efficiency achieved at such extraordinary frequencies. s_feb728b2fbde4a76aa151dd41bb0cf4f.png Another expert, Safedisk, made the most out of this platform by achieving three world records: completing PiFast in just 6.79 seconds, wrapping up SuperPI 1M in 3.768 seconds, and smoothly running PYPrime 32B in 97.596 seconds.

The ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX has truly emerged as the ultimate overclocking powerhouse, pushing the i9-13900K to 9GHz at one point. Its upgraded version, the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APE ENCORE, even took the i9-14900K to a staggering 9043.92MHz. s_30a46a8a24024e9e8385b171676474d7.png
