According to the news from Pulsestacks on April 29th, citing industry sources, Huaxing Optoelectronics is expected to announce its plan to invest in and build an 8.6th generation OLED production line within the year.

Previously, Samsung Display and BOE announced the start of their 8.6th generation OLED production line projects in March this year. ZDNet Korea predicted in February that LG Display is also expected to announce its 8.6th generation OLED production line plan in the second half of the year.

The 8.6th generation OLED production line uses glass substrates with a size of no less than 2250x2600mm. Compared to existing 5th and 6th generation production lines optimized for medium-sized IT OLED panels such as laptops and tablets, it can improve production efficiency.

According to Korean media, Chinese display companies are currently not as prominent in the field of IT OLED panels compared to small OLED panels used in smartphones.

With increased investment from BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics, Chinese companies are expected to replicate their previous strategies in the LCD and small OLED markets, promoting price competition through quantity, and catching up in the medium-sized OLED field.

In addition to the possible 8.6th generation line, Huaxing Optoelectronics is currently constructing a 5.5th generation printing OLED production line in Wuhan. According to previous reports from Pulsestacks, this production line is also initially targeting the medium-sized market, with related products expected to achieve mass production within the year.
