According to data from Runto Technology, on March 27th, the Chinese smart tablet online market saw a strong start in January and February of 2024, with retail sales reaching 1.923 million units, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%.
Analysis indicates that the significant increase in sales is due in part to the low base in 2023 and also to the dual promotion of current product price reductions and brand efforts, intensifying market competition.
In terms of brands, Huawei Tablets have stood out. Its "chip return" strategy has brought a significant amount of traffic conversion to Huawei Tablets, resulting in nearly doubling of online sales in the first two months compared to the same period last year.
According to a report released last month by the data company IDC, in the fourth quarter of 2023, Huawei surpassed Apple for the first time to become the top seller in the Chinese tablet market.
Another major tablet brand, Xiaomi, continued its growth momentum from 2023, achieving a nearly 30% year-on-year increase in sales.
The report also indicates that in the first two months of this year, the average selling price of tablets online was 2569 CNY, a decrease of 14.4% compared to 2023. Due to the decline in unit prices, the overall retail sales also slightly decreased by 2.1%, reaching 4.94 billion CNY.
