Huawei Responds to Allegations of Intercepting Xiaomi SU7 Orders

On April 22nd, reports surfaced claiming that Huawei's Smart Selection S7 intercepted orders intended for Xiaomi's SU7, offering a direct deduction of the non-refundable 5000 yuan deposit for the Xiaomi SU7 upon purchasing any Smart Selection S7 and completing the final payment.

A Huawei spokesperson stated that they are currently unaware of these allegations, emphasizing the significant consumer interest in test-driving over the past few weekends and the ability to fulfill large-scale deliveries.

Today, reports indicated confirmation of the interception strategy from a Huawei authorized experience store employee in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

According to this employee, "Such a policy does exist in nationwide Hongmeng Smart Experience Stores and can be applied for by customers."

Since the launch of Xiaomi SU7, major Huawei stores have introduced this temporary policy, which will continue until the end of May.

In response, some analysts have characterized this situation as a win-win for all parties involved.

For consumers, placing a deposit on the Xiaomi SU7 might lead to frustration due to prolonged waiting times. Huawei's willingness to step in and compensate for this loss is undoubtedly beneficial for those eager to receive their vehicles promptly.

For Huawei, attracting customers, increasing sales, and enhancing brand visibility are clear advantages.

As for Xiaomi, receiving 5000 yuan without providing any goods is a welcome outcome, especially considering that those swayed by this offer are unlikely to be staunch Xiaomi supporters. 1d591a27-2d82-4f24-bad9-23e679b755e2.png
