On April 15th, Huawei's Executive Director and CEO of the Consumer Business Group (BG), as well as Chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, Richard Yu, announced that the Huawei P series has officially been upgraded to "Huawei Pura".
The originally planned P70 series will be the first product of the Pura series.
This renaming was certainly not a spontaneous decision. According to Tianyancha, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. had applied for registration of multiple "Pura" and "HUAWEI Pura" trademarks five years ago, classified internationally under scientific instruments.
The earliest trademark application dates back to May 2019, which means Huawei has been planning this renaming for at least five years.
According to Yu Chengdong, after the P series was upgraded to "Huawei Pura," they will continue to pursue exploration in imaging and aesthetics, staying true to their original aspirations and striving forward.
