According to media reports, Huawei officials stated that serving as the Chairman of the Consumer Business Group (BG) still means that Yu Chengdong remains the head of that business, and stepping down this time may signal a shift towards focusing more on the automotive business.
It is understood that in 2011, Yu Chengdong took over Huawei's consumer business.
During his tenure, the revenue of Huawei's consumer business increased from 160.1 billion yuan in 2012 to 482.9 billion yuan in 2020.
