On May 23rd, it was reported that the Terminus Lab of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology hosted an AI PC technology salon and standard seminar. Over 40 leaders and expert representatives from various industry-leading companies attended.
Interestingly, the attendee list included Huawei, Intel, and AMD.
Just recently, Intel processors (and Qualcomm) had their supply to Huawei cut off, while AMD never had the license to supply processors to Huawei from the beginning.
Other participants included Lenovo, Honor, Huawei, Intel, AMD, Arm China, Zhaoxin, Moore Threads, ZTE, Ruijie Networks, Horizon Robotics, Cloudwalk, C-Sky Microsystems, Inspur, GrAI Matter Labs, Horizon Robotics, and Shanghai Pinnacle, among others.
At the seminar, Ma Xin, Director of Thiel Terminal Laboratory, pointed out that the rapid development of the AI PC industry has brought challenges such as inconsistent technical standards, poor product compatibility, high market entry barriers, and a lack of rich application ecosystems.
Thiel Terminal Laboratory will actively promote the research and development of AI PC technical standards, hoping to guide and regulate the development direction of the AI PC industry through standardization, promote the healthy development of the industry, and provide solid technical support for the industry's long-term development.
Sun Yu, Product Director of Intel's Client Business Unit, focused on "Intel Vision on AI PC," outlining Intel's future vision for AI PC. He emphasized how the combination of cloud computing, client computing, and edge computing will shape the future computing model, introduced the AI application framework on PCs, aiming to provide simpler, faster new features, and a better user experience.
As for Huawei and AMD's statements, they have not been publicly disclosed.
During the standard discussion session, participants engaged in intense discussions and in-depth communication on the definition and core technologies of AI PC, reaching a preliminary consensus on the definition of AI PC.
