On May 26th, Huawei's Terminal BG CTO Li Xiaolong transformed into a "gold medal customer service" online to recommend and introduce the indoor positioning feature of Huawei phones.
With this feature, even indoors, Huawei phones can provide accurate positioning, and in some buildings, the user's floor can be accurately displayed on the Amap.
A netizen asked Bruce Lee: "Can I use Nova? Can I use Changxiang?" Bruce Lee replied, "Both Nova and Changxiang are supported. As long as it is EMUI 9.1.1 or later, and all HarmonyOS versions, indoor positioning capability is supported on all phones."
Huawei's customer service official WeChat account also provides detailed explanations in the comments section. In some domestic shopping malls, high-speed railway stations, airports, and other buildings, by opening map software (currently supporting the Amap app), users can accurately locate their position on the floor and indoor main corridors.
After riding elevators, escalators, and moving between floors, the map can automatically switch floors in real-time without manual intervention. Upon successful indoor high-precision positioning, a gray floating window will appear below the location icon, indicating "Currently on Floor X".
It is worth mentioning that this year's Huawei Pura 70 series is equipped with the first "floor-level device locating" feature in conjunction with Huawei Cloud Space, which can accurately pinpoint the floor information of the device.
Once this feature is activated, users can precisely locate their device when they are out shopping, watching movies, dining out, or catching a high-speed train/plane in case of accidental loss.
Even if the phone is offline without a network connection, the cloud space can still locate the device's floor position through the "search network" feature.
According to reports, the current "floor-level device locating" feature has covered over 10,000 mainstream cities nationwide, including business districts, airports, train stations, and other high-traffic areas, with plans to further expand its coverage in the future.
