On April 17th, Huawei's Car BU Chairman, Yu Chengdong, announced that pre-orders for the Wajie Xinqi M5 are now open.
Yu Chengdong stated:
"Exactly one year ago today, we unveiled the first vehicle equipped with Huawei's high-end intelligent driving system ADS 2.0, the Wajie M5 Intelligent Driving Edition. Since then, we have officially embarked on the high-end intelligent driving track.
"Over the past year, our ADS 2.0 has continued to evolve. OTA upgrades have brought nationwide accessibility to features such as urban NCA driving, valet parking, and omnidirectional collision prevention, making driving more enjoyable and safer than ever. With great products and experiences, the Wajie M5 has consistently won the favor of users.
"On April 23rd, it will undergo a comprehensive upgrade, debuting with a younger, more stylish image, promising consumers a brand-new experience that is 'superior in appearance, driving, intelligence, and safety.'"
On the scheduled poster, it also shows that "order before 15:00 on the 23rd of this month, you can enjoy a preferential policy of deducting 2000 yuan deposit from 5000 yuan purchase price, and you can get priority delivery."
From the official images, the Askie New M5 and M9 are aligned, and the extended-range version also adopts a closed front face, with only the lower intake retained, making it appear more concise, harmonious, and tech-savvy.
In addition to the "Flame Red" version, the car also revealed a "Snow Peak Gray" edition, with its logo and wheel hubs blackened, employing the same technique seen on the brake caliper covers in red, adding a strong sense of sportiness.
The new M5 also comes equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR, featuring Huawei's advanced ADS 2.0 for intelligent driving. It is expected to retain the front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension, both made of aluminum alloy, boasting high specifications.
