On May 25th, it was announced that at the recent OpenHarmony Developer Conference, Yu Chengdong revealed that the number of native applications for HarmonyOS NEXT, the Milky Way version, has exceeded 4,000.

OpenHarmony has achieved a breakthrough development, making significant progress in ecosystem devices, core technologies, industry chain collaboration, and influence.

It is reported that currently, over 70 units have joined in the ecosystem collaboration of OpenHarmony, with over 7,500 community contributors participating, contributing over 1.1 billion lines of code. Nearly 600 software and hardware products have undergone OpenHarmony compatibility testing, making it the fastest-growing open-source operating system in the smart terminal field.

Yu Chengdong previously pointed out that 2024 is a crucial year for the native HarmonyOS, emphasizing the need to accelerate the development of various native HarmonyOS applications and focus on winning the two most challenging battles of technological foundation and third-party ecosystem.

Huawei's Rotating Chairman, Xu Zhijun, revealed earlier, "We hope that when the Mate 70 is launched this year, it will come with the pure HarmonyOS, which is also our goal."

According to Xu Zhijun, "When we migrate these 5,000 applications and thousands of other applications from the Android ecosystem to the HarmonyOS, HarmonyOS will truly become the world's third mobile operating system after Apple's iOS and Google's Android." s_a2cf43373b54454aa9587eb10abfaca0.jpg
