Huawei's Biggest Rival Faces Tough Times: Ericsson Confirms Layoffs in China, Vows Not to Exit Chinese Market

On April 22nd, Ericsson, the biggest competitor of Huawei, has confirmed layoffs in its China division.

As part of business adjustments in the Chinese market, Ericsson has laid off 240 employees in China, mainly impacting its research and development center.

It is reported that the company plans for further layoffs in the coming months.

Ericsson stated that the layoffs are aimed at aligning with its efforts to diversify its research footprint to better support its global sales.

A company spokesperson mentioned that employees in the "core network" research and development department in China are affected by the layoffs.

Previously, Ericsson publicly stated its commitment to enriching its research teams globally to better serve its business and users, while enhancing the flexibility and cost efficiency of software design.
