Pulsestacks reported on April 22nd that HP has recently launched the 2024 version of its Omen 17 AMD gaming laptop overseas.
The notebook measures about 30mm thick and weighs 6.51 pounds (approximately 2.96 kilograms). For the CPU, options include AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS, Ryzen 7 8845HS, and Ryzen 9 8945HS, while GPU choices range from Nvidia RTX 4050/4060/4070.
In terms of other core hardware configurations, the gaming laptop can be configured with up to 2x16GB DDR5-5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 solid-state drive.
The Shadow Elf 17 AMD gaming laptop features a 17.3-inch 16:9 aspect ratio display, available in both FHD and QHD versions. Both variants boast a brightness of 300 nits (typical) and cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut.
Specifically, the FHD version supports a variable refresh rate of 48-144Hz with a response time of 7ms, while the QHD version supports a variable refresh rate of 48-240Hz with a response time of 3ms.
The laptop is equipped with an 83Wh battery, a single-zone RGB backlit keyboard, and an FHD webcam with support for noise reduction. Additionally, it includes a dual-speaker system tuned by HyperX and supports DTSX Ultra sound.
In terms of ports, the Shadow Elf 17 AMD version includes a full-featured 10G Type-C port, two 10G Type-A ports, and a 5G Type-A port with power-off charging support. It also features an HDMI 2.1 port, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
The Shadow Elf 17 AMD gaming laptop is set to officially launch overseas later this week, with HP pricing it starting at $1350 (approximately ¥9788 RMB at the current exchange rate), as reported by Windows Central.
