On May 10th, the Subaru WRX was officially launched in China, being imported through parallel channels. It is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2024, with only one model available at a price of 369,800 RMB, limited to 200 units.
The car is built on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) and comes in three color options: Rally Blue, Sunset Orange, and Light Dusk Mineral Gray. The front retains the classic hexagonal grille and the intake design above the engine hood, while the rear lights feature a central black panel with dual exhausts on each side.
With dimensions of 4670/1825/1465mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2675mm, it is positioned as a compact sedan. It is equipped with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights with adaptive steering, power-folding mirrors, keyless entry, and more.
The car is equipped with an 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen, with the infotainment system offering a Chinese language option. It supports CarPlay for smartphone connectivity. Additionally, it features a leather-wrapped three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a manual transmission with a mechanical handbrake, and aluminum pedals. The driver's seat offers 10-way power adjustment, keyless start, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
Furthermore, the new car will come with the EyeSight driver assistance system, including collision avoidance braking, emergency automatic steering assistance, and adaptive cruise control (ACC). The seats are wrapped in Oswei material.
The powertrain is undoubtedly the essence of this vehicle, featuring Subaru's proud 2.4-liter turbocharged horizontally opposed engine with 16 valves, dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), capable of producing up to 275 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Newton-meters. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
