On March 12th, Honor announced that the Honor Magic6 Ultimate Edition and Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche Design will globally debut the car-grade LOFIC technology.

Tech blogger Digital Chatter Station revealed that the sensor used in the Honor Magic6 Ultimate Edition is the OV50K, which is first equipped by Honor, and the new Huawei Mate series is also testing the OV50K.

It is reported that the OV50K is an ultra-large bottom sensor with 50 million pixels, achieving the industry's highest dynamic range of up to 15EV. s_d4ec30ed713f4011acc6c27482d1d34f.jpg Comparatively, the OV50H boasts 13.5EV, while the Sony LYT900 comes in at 14EV, both demonstrating a noticeable difference compared to the OV50K sensor.

As we know, dynamic range refers to the extent to which a camera captures details in both the shadow and highlight areas simultaneously. A higher dynamic range allows for richer detail in the image, preventing loss of information in highlights and shadows.

Additionally, the OV50K debuts the LOFIC technology globally, addressing issues related to overexposure in bright scenes.

In high-brightness scenarios, when the charge exceeds the maximum capacity originally supported by the pixels, the excess charge doesn't spill over, allowing for clear representation of bright scenes. s_5bf6c67a8ed345e7bd86efddaf602936.jpg
