In recent days, heavy rainfall has been inundating various regions of Guangdong Province. A video emerged showing a man in Shaoguan, Guangdong, pushing his electric scooter through floodwater that reached neck-deep, attracting attention online.
In the video, a man wearing a helmet can be seen navigating through the flooded streets with water levels reaching above his neck. The person filming asks, "Can your electric scooter still work?" to which the man, dubbed as the "waterproof" guy, responds affirmatively.
Some netizens have humorously photoshopped images, jokingly suggesting how the man might appear in the water.
According to @GuangdongWeather, today (April 21st), there will be heavy to extremely heavy rain in parts of northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta, with locally torrential rain. Moderate to heavy rain with isolated heavy rain is expected in eastern Guangdong and the Leizhou Peninsula, while other cities and counties will experience heavy to torrential rain, with locally heavy downpours.
Currently, except for Zhanjiang and some eastern parts of Guangdong, the entire province is covered by a thunderstorm cloud system.
As of 08:57, a total of 70 heavy rain warnings are in effect across the province, including red warnings for heavy rain in Gaoming, Gaoyao, Deqing, Yingde, Yangshan, Ruyuan, Qujiang, and Shaoguan; 34 orange warnings for heavy rain; and 28 yellow warnings for heavy rain. Please take precautions.
As of 09:02, there are 65 thunderstorm and strong wind warnings in effect across the province, including 28 orange warnings for thunderstorm and strong winds in Yangshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Yangjiang, and others; and 37 yellow warnings for thunderstorm and strong winds. It's a soggy weekend, so stay indoors in safe places and try to avoid going out.
