On April 17th, the "China Internet Audiovisual Development Research Report (2024)" was released. As of December 2023, the user base of China's internet audiovisual reached 1.074 billion people, with an internet usage rate as high as 98.3%, ranking first among all internet users.

In 2023, the average daily usage time of mobile internet users was 435 minutes, with the average daily usage time of audiovisual applications on mobile reaching 187 minutes.

The average daily usage time of short video per capita reached 151 minutes, indicating that internet audiovisual content remains the primary choice for leisure time consumption among the public.

The report shows that in 2023, the market size of the internet audiovisual industry surpassed one trillion CNY for the first time, reaching 1,152.481 billion CNY, covering various sectors including long videos, short videos, live streaming, and audio.

There are approximately over 660,000 surviving companies with internet audiovisual business as their main focus nationwide, with about 65.7% of them located in first-tier and new first-tier cities. There are approximately 516,000 micro-enterprises, accounting for about 78.1%.

As of December 2023, the total number of short video accounts on the entire network reached 1.55 billion, with the number of professional anchors reaching 15.08 million. The daily average short video updates on major platforms approach 80 million, with over 3.5 million live broadcasts per day.
