Gurman: Apple Expected to Directly Release M4 Version of Mac Mini by Year End

Wed, May 01 2024 07:54 PM EST

On April 22, the well-known tech journalist Mark Gurman revealed that Apple might skip the M3 version of the Mac mini and instead opt for the more powerful M4 chip. Gurman had previously stated that Apple planned to release new models of the Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chips "towards the end of 2024 to early 2025." Now, he further confirms that with the new Mac mini potentially arriving as soon as the end of this year, there isn't enough room before then to "introduce an M3 model," leading these Mac models to skip the M3 generation. Rumors suggest that the M4 chip will also feature a faster neural engine designed for AI tasks.
