Recently, the National Group Standard Information Platform of the China National Institute of Standardization released the "Guidelines for Terrestrial Carbon Budget Spatial Accounting" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines") by the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping. According to reports, the "Guidelines" were jointly compiled by 17 units including the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping (the supporting unit), the Ministry of Natural Resources Land Consolidation Center, Wuhan Surveying Institute, Guangdong Carbon Neutrality Research Institute (Shaoguan), and Guangzhou Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The "Guidelines" serve the national terrestrial carbon budget spatial accounting work, stipulating the principles, scope, content, and process of terrestrial carbon budget spatial accounting based on land change survey data. It provides methods for terrestrial carbon budget spatial accounting based on land change survey data. The "Guidelines" provide technical guidance for scientific and effective terrestrial carbon budget spatial accounting work in provinces and cities across China, which is of great significance for achieving dual carbon goals.

It is understood that Chen Shuisen, a researcher at the Guangzhou Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with master student Zhao Chenyao and Dr. Jia Kaibo, participated in the compilation. In recent years, Chen Shuisen's team has targeted the national strategic demand for "dual carbon" and actively participated in the construction of Shaoguan forestry carbon sink pilot city in Guangdong. They have conducted research on the "High-resolution Estimation Methods and Technologies for Urban Building Carbon Emissions Based on UAV Remote Sensing" as part of the Guangzhou Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Major Project. They have successfully been selected as an innovative team of Guangdong Provincial Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System (Key Technology R&D of Precision Agriculture Commonality), and conducted in-depth research on digital agriculture and forestry innovation, as well as the popularization of remote sensing and carbon peak and neutrality technology innovation.
