On March 8th, the impression that traditional car companies lack strong autonomous driving capabilities is about to change, thanks to Great Wall!

Today, a video of the urban true no-map NOA from an internal meeting at Great Wall has been exposed for the first time. The challenges that autonomous driving has struggled with in the past seem to have been overcome by Great Wall.

The video showcases four typical scenarios encountered while driving in urban areas, all of which have been successfully tackled:

  1. Navigating through complex intersections: crossing railway intersections, lane changes based on navigation, left turns at multi-intersections, and driving on wide lanes without lane markings.

  2. Maneuvering through busy city streets: yielding to road obstructions, yielding to vehicles/pedestrians, vehicle/pedestrian detours, and navigating through unprotected complex intersections.

  3. Navigating rural settings: making unprotected right turns, driving on narrow roads, yielding to vehicles/pedestrians, vehicle/pedestrian detours, and navigating through unconventional traffic light scenarios.

  4. Driving on icy roads and elevated highways: navigating around special vehicles, changing lanes to avoid snow barriers, maintaining position on snow-covered roads, and recognizing right-turn scenarios at unconventional traffic lights.

These scenarios cover most of the situations encountered by drivers in urban areas. The system can successfully handle complex rural roads and mixed traffic situations in bustling city centers. When faced with complex intersection scenarios, it can accurately identify the correct turn amidst multiple intersections.

Furthermore, it can navigate through busy city streets and rural areas while yielding to pedestrians, plan lane changes in advance based on route planning, and engage in vehicle maneuvering during unexpected events, all while demonstrating strong perception capabilities and employing human-like control strategies.

It is evident that Great Wall is fully committed to the urban NOA true no-map technology route, with strong perception capabilities and behavior more akin to human drivers. The overall performance exhibited is on par with top players in the autonomous driving field like Huawei.

We are eagerly anticipating Great Wall's official introduction and the final product. s_9f53008c779c40e9bf4aad031d3c8b52.jpg
