According to domestic media reports, Junshi Ozakata, Executive Vice President of Honda R&D (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and General Manager of Honda Motorcycle Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., recently stated in an interview:
"We believe that other brands launching models similar to the Gold Wing with multiple cylinders, even eight cylinders, play a role in injecting vitality into the motorcycle market.
"Several development and research leaders from Honda Japan have also come to the motorcycle show this time, and they will conduct relevant analysis and research on this."
It is reported that the Great Wall Soul Motorcycle is manufactured and developed according to the standards of high-end passenger cars, fully adopting the research and development process of the automotive field. In terms of performance, quality, and even service, it adheres to the standards of high-end passenger cars.
Its most distinctive feature is the powertrain. The Soul Motorcycle's eight-cylinder engine is actually an engine combined with an 8-speed DCT automatic transmission assembly, a technology currently unique in the world.
In the domestic market, the direct competitor of the Great Wall Soul Motorcycle is the Honda Gold Wing. The Gold Wing is equipped with a 1800ml horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, paired with a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission and shaft drive.
The engine has a maximum power of 126 horsepower and a peak torque of 170N·m, comparable to a car's powertrain. As for the power performance of the Great Wall Soul Motorcycle's eight-cylinder engine, which has not been disclosed yet, do you think it can surpass the Honda Gold Wing?
In addition, Honda Motorcycle's official website shows that the suggested retail price of the current Gold Wing GL 1800 is 342,800 yuan, and it is expected that the price of the Great Wall Soul 8-cylinder motorcycle will be below that of the Gold Wing.
