According to reports from pulsestacks on May 25th, the upcoming Tensor G5 chip is rumored to be Google's "first truly self-developed" chip. It will be manufactured by TSMC and is slated for use in the Pixel 10 series of smartphones set to be released in 2025.
Pulsestacks noticed that, although there have been rumors about Google choosing TSMC for manufacturing, direct evidence has been lacking. However, information obtained by Android Authority confirms that Google has indeed partnered with TSMC and will entrust the production of Tensor G5 to them.
Simply put, any company involved in importing or exporting goods must declare the details and value of the goods to customs. The image in question is from a related database, which includes the shipping manifest for Google Tensor G5 samples. In the "Commodity Description" section, the term "LGA" stands for G5's abbreviated code name, which is "Laguna Beach".
For reference, Google previously abbreviated "Whitechapel" (first-gen Tensor) as "WHI" and "Zuma Pro" (Tensor G4) as "ZPR".
Furthermore, the "stepping version" of this chip is labeled as "A0", indicating that the Tensor G5 is still in the early stages of production and likely has defects. Additionally, "NPI-OPEN" further suggests that this is a very early sample of the Tensor G5, while "SLT" stands for system-level testing, indicating that the chip has undergone some form of validation.
