According to pulsestacks on April 16th, Google seems intent on reshaping people's perception of its foldable phones. Previously expected to be released as the Pixel Fold 2, the latest report from Android Authority suggests it has been renamed, with the upcoming product being called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Additionally, as previously rumored, reports suggest that the device is not expected to be unveiled at this year's Google I/O developer conference in May, but will instead make its debut at the Google hardware event in October. Consequently, Google's October product launch event may be particularly bustling, with the company set to introduce four phones: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Among these, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL are said to be iterative upgrades from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, while the Pixel 9 Pro is reportedly compact like the Pixel 9 but will still feature the high-end specifications typical of the Pro series. It's reported that all four phones will be powered by the upcoming Tensor G4 chip.
