While Xiaomi's automotive sector sees positive developments, April 30 brought good news for Xiaomi's smartphone division. The news stems from the globally renowned data firm Canalys, which released its report on global smartphone market analysis for the first quarter of 2024. The report reveals Xiaomi securing the third spot globally, closely trailing Apple, and leading the domestic market. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0430%2F60d7932dj00scqyqq002pd000xc00iqm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Canalys believes that the global smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2024 reached 296.2 million units, surpassing expectations. This signals a recovery in the global smartphone market, indicating that the slump in the market is now in the past. However, amidst intense competition, major smartphone brands showed varying performances on a global scale in the first quarter, with official rankings far exceeding initial expectations. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0430%2F6f3b9763j00scqyqp002kd000xc00lym.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg In the past first quarter, Samsung reclaimed the top spot globally with a shipment of 60 million units, capturing a 20% market share. This was mainly driven by the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S24, although Samsung saw a 1% decline compared to the previous year. Apple ranked second with a shipment of 48.7 million units and a market share of 16%. However, Apple faced challenges from brands like Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi, leading to a significant 16% year-on-year decline.

Xiaomi secured the third spot with a shipment of 40.7 million units, topping the domestic market with a 14% market share and a remarkable 33% year-on-year growth, primarily fueled by the performance of the Xiaomi 14 series. Transsion ranked fourth with an overall shipment of 28.6 million units, capturing a 10% market share and experiencing a substantial 86% year-on-year increase. It's impressive for a non-domestic market reliant brand to achieve the fourth position globally solely through overseas markets. OPPO claimed the fifth spot with an overall shipment of 25 million units, holding an 8% market share, but witnessing a 6% year-on-year decline.

PS: The shipment of other brands reached 93.3 million units, commanding a 31% market share and an 18% year-on-year growth. Undoubtedly, this was driven by brands like Huawei and Honor. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0430%2F399ce5eej00scqyqp0016d000hs00dcm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Unfortunately, we did not see Huawei, Honor, or Vivo in the rankings. Analysis suggests that Vivo should be ranked sixth, with slightly weaker performance in the international market but holding the top spot domestically in Q1. The reasons for Huawei not making the list are well understood, especially considering its performance in the overseas market... The next thing to watch for is whether there will be any changes in this ranking in the second quarter.
