On March 21st, Yadea Electric Vehicle and Meituan jointly hosted the "Shenzhen City Takeaway Electric Vehicle Sodium-Ion Battery Swap Pilot Launch Conference", which was successfully held.

At the launch event, Yadea introduced the world's first "sodium-electric swap-for-charge" model. This model combines sodium batteries with battery swapping to effectively address user concerns about slow charging, difficult charging, charging safety, and range anxiety. Research institutions reported that sodium-ion batteries, although slightly lower in energy density than lithium-ion batteries, have excellent charge and discharge rate performance and can meet the energy density requirements of electric two-wheelers, power tools, energy storage, and A00-class electric vehicles. They can fully exploit the advantages of sodium-ion batteries, such as excellent charge and discharge rate performance and excellent safety.

According to official reports, Yadea released the industry's first commercially available sodium battery, the "Extreme Sodium 1", and the Extreme Sodium G25 battery-powered electric vehicle in 2023.

The battery pack shows no obvious capacity reduction at temperatures above -10℃. Even under -40℃ conditions, the discharge retention rate can exceed 85%.

In terms of battery life, this sodium-ion battery can achieve over 3,000 charge-discharge cycles, which is 8 times longer than lead-acid batteries. It can also be transported without any charge, reducing the risks during transportation. Sb3615356-6836-4990-9e6c-f79a146cca7a.jpg
