Instances of e-commerce mispricing are not uncommon, affecting both major brands and small businesses, with potentially fatal consequences for the latter.

According to reports, a farm produce online store in Weifang, Shandong Province, recently announced its closure, citing an inability to fulfill orders due to mispricing of ginger.

The announcement stated that on the evening of April 19, due to a misunderstanding of platform promotion rules, the price of ginger in the store was incorrectly listed, resulting in nearly 80,000 orders. Since all the agricultural products sold in the store are sourced from local farmers, fulfilling orders at the erroneous prices would lead to substantial debt. Consequently, the store is unable to fulfill the orders and earnestly requests customers to voluntarily cancel their orders and initiate refunds promptly. s_0cc154372fc440108c499dfbec95f4cf.png According to Mr. Tian, the shop owner, the total amount of the orders was only around 1 yuan, and within less than half an hour, over 76,000 orders were placed. Fulfilling all these orders would result in a loss of at least 3 million yuan.

Following this, Mr. Tian reached out to the platform's customer service for assistance. He also privately messaged buyers requesting refunds and asked netizens to help spread the message.

Currently, more than 16,000 orders have been voluntarily canceled, but over 60,000 orders remain unfulfilled.

If you were in this situation, would you cancel the orders? s_405b9ac4931647ddb23513c7e3193795.png
