On April 29, Giant Network (002558.SZ) released its 2023 annual report and the first quarter report of 2024. The reports reveal that in 2023, the company achieved an operating income of 29.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 43.50%, with a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company amounting to 10.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 27.67%; and a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses reaching 13.73 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.84%.
In the first quarter of 2024, the company recorded an operating income of 6.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 37.21%, with a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of 3.52 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 43.97%, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses of 4.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 54.42%.
Giant Network stated that the company is keenly aware of the disruptive changes that AI technology brings to the gaming industry and is fully embracing the AI wave. It has currently established an AI innovation laboratory, recruited AI elite talents, responsible for AI technology research and application capability building, and is comprehensively promoting the popularization of AI in various business scenarios.
Giant Network mentioned that during the reporting period, it successively built a series of AI tool platforms covering visual, speech, large language models, and other technical directions. With the deep application of these tool platforms, the research and development efficiency of various business departments of the company has significantly improved, and research and operation costs have been notably reduced. At the same time, based on self-training AI models from open-source models, the AI-generated large model GiantGPT was filed in February 2024.
