On May 10th, it was announced that China Railway Construction Corporation has successfully installed the first 16-megawatt offshore wind turbine in the Zhangpu Offshore Wind Farm Phase II project, marking the beginning of large-scale demonstration application for the project.

This wind turbine has a blade diameter of 252 meters, covering a sweeping area of about 50,000 square meters, showcasing its massive scale.

Based on long-term wind data from the area, it is estimated that each rotation can generate 34.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity, with an expected annual electricity production exceeding 66 million kilowatt-hours. This output is sufficient to meet the annual conventional electricity needs of approximately 36,000 households.

The Zhangpu Offshore Wind Farm Phase II project is the first offshore wind power project in the Minnan region of Fujian. It not only serves as a pioneering demonstration project for the development of a large offshore wind power base in the Minnan offshore area but has also been designated as a key construction project for Fujian Province in 2024.

The batch demonstration application of the 16-megawatt offshore wind turbine in the Zhangpu Phase II project is a milestone in promoting the high-quality development of large-scale domestically produced equipment for offshore wind power. s_953ea335bdee4f8f972710dc159cd0a7.jpg
