Sun, Apr 28 2024 07:52 PM EST

From a simple cup of soy milk to the well-being of countless households; from minor kitchen inconveniences to everyday life challenges; for 30 years, Joyoung has believed that for every small issue in life, there is always a better solution.

On April 18th, under the theme of "Saluting Great Small Issues," Joyoung held its 30th-anniversary new product launch event in Shanghai. Over the past three decades, Joyoung has consistently adhered to principles of health and innovation. By paying attention to and solving the "small issues" in everyone's life, they have continuously refined their core technology, crafted high-quality small home appliances, and relentlessly driven innovation in healthy lifestyles, thereby supporting the health and well-being of the Chinese people. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0418%2Fdef11221j00sc580x002dd000z700mom.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg At the 30th anniversary new product launch event of Joyoung:

From a cup of soy milk to wellness for thousands of households,

Inventing a product, pioneering an industry.

Chinese people have shared the fragrance of tea with the world and kept soy milk for themselves. People have always loved drinking soy milk since ancient times, but the process of making soy milk is very complex. In the past, during the winter, when we wanted to drink a cup of soy milk, we often had to brave the cold wind, go out to buy soy milk, bring back breakfast for our families, and by the time we drank it, it might only be lukewarm.

In 1994, Joyoung invented the first fully automatic household soy milk machine. Since then, Joyoung has entered thousands of households and been recognized by people across the country. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0418%2Fdf2a4ca3j00sc580y00u3d0011400dgm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg In its inaugural decade, Joyoung, with the slogan "Conquering the World with a Cup of Soymilk," invented a product, pioneered an industry, and established a brand.

Apart from the basic function of cooking soymilk, users of soymilk machines encountered various minor issues, each of which drove incremental technological innovations in soymilk machines.

Can soymilk be made without filtering, without residue?

Transforming individual soybeans into creamy soymilk requires a powerful heart for the soymilk machine—the motor. It not only needs to be powerful but also stable, reliable, and quiet.

However, achieving no need for filtering and no residue requires perfect coordination of pulverization technology in addition to the motor. With blades spinning amidst the swirling mixture of water and beans, it's akin to wielding a knife in a whirlwind to chop leaves. Hence, Joyoung delved into fluid dynamics and pulverization technology, crafting the optimal blade shape, material, and cup design to achieve a smooth texture reminiscent of traditional soymilk while eliminating the need for traditional filters.

Can soymilk be boiled to a richer consistency?

The richness of soymilk boils down to thorough boiling. However, soymilk is a high-protein substance, and boiling it at temperatures around 80°C to 90°C generates copious foam, risking overflow. Yet, if the temperature does not exceed 85°C, it fails to eliminate anti-nutrients such as urease and lipoxidase in soymilk, resulting in a beany taste that makes it both unpalatable and unsafe. Therefore, Joyoung invented anti-overflow boiling technology to allow thorough boiling of soymilk while preventing spillage.

The key to delicious soymilk lies in the cooking process. Only when cooked just right can it deliver both nutrition and flavor. Joyoung assembled a team dedicated to researching intelligent temperature control technology and developed patented low-heat boiling technology to unlock the secret to rich and flavorful soymilk.

Within a small soymilk machine lies the technological prowess honed by Joyoung. Over the first decade, Joyoung continuously achieved technological breakthroughs, establishing three core technologies: motor drive technology, intelligent temperature control technology, and nutritional extraction technology, as well as numerous other critical technologies including fluid dynamics and anti-overflow technology. Along this journey, the Joyoung soymilk machine underwent 25 technological iterations, resulting in over 500 product models and accumulating more than 1200 technical patents.

These technologies represent the fruits of Joyoung's relentless pursuit of perfection in solving one minor problem after another because behind every minor problem lies consumers' pursuit of a better life.

From kitchen issues to life's little problems,

Quality small home appliances promote a healthier lifestyle for the Chinese people.

In the subsequent second and third decades, Joyoung discovered that the core technologies accumulated through soymilk machines could be applied to a broader range of products, helping consumers solve more of life's little problems.

The invention of the heating and breaking machine is a prime example. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0418%2Ffcbd282dj00sc580x001kd000x000lvm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg (Joyoung Multifunctional Nutrient Blender Y8)

After blenders were introduced from Western countries to China, they became very popular. However, Chinese consumers faced a problem: as a foreign import, all blenders were designed for cold blending without any heating function. What if one wanted a hot drink?

For Joyoung, a Chinese brand that understands the dietary preferences of its local market, providing warmth is essential. Leveraging its expertise in temperature control and cooking technology from soy milk makers, Joyoung innovated and launched the heated blender in 2016. This allowed consumers to enjoy a variety of nutritious hot beverages, warming the stomachs of many in China.

The heated blender quickly became a favorite among Chinese consumers and dominated the market. Joyoung has maintained its position as the industry leader for eight consecutive years.

Another testament to Joyoung's commitment to consumer health is its solution to the health risks associated with peeling coatings in rice cookers.

Traditionally, rice cookers used aluminum inner pots with chemical coatings. When these coatings peeled, the exposed aluminum posed health risks, like a "ticking time bomb." The industry had struggled to find a solution while the potential risks of chemical coatings also became a hot topic.

Entering the rice cooker market, Joyoung focused on one key question from the start: How can we ensure everyone eats healthy rice?

In 2014, Joyoung was the first to introduce a rice cooker with an iron pot coating, effectively addressing the health risks of aluminum coatings.

In 2018, they invented a steam rice cooker with a glass inner pot, achieving a zero-coating, non-stick cooking performance for the first time. However, the glass pots had drawbacks, such as poor heat conductivity and subpar rice texture.

After numerous research and development efforts, in 2022, Joyoung introduced the optimal solution: a stainless steel rice cooker with no coating. Stainless steel was chosen for its fast heat conduction and durability. Combined with a unique air-cooled moisture film technology, it provided health benefits, delicious rice, and non-stick performance. In 2023, Joyoung further improved its non-stick technology with the introduction of micro-dotted technology, significantly enhancing the non-stick performance to meet the national second-level non-stick standards. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0418%2Fc4753b6bj00sc580x0020d000z700nhm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg (Nine Yang 40N9U pro Zero-Coating Non-Stick Rice Cooker)

Serving small homes, benefiting everyone

"The Three Kitchens" carry a national sentiment

In family kitchens, Joyoung has helped solve everyday issues, establishing itself as a "national brand" that has accompanied many consumers for years. Joyoung’s understanding of a national brand involves not only serving each "small home" well but also serving the broader "everyone."

More than ten years ago, in collaboration with charitable organizations, Joyoung identified a significant issue through research: many remote mountain schools had outdated kitchen facilities, preventing them from providing a good lunch.

In 2010, Joyoung officially launched the "Charity Kitchen" project. From the start, aimed at remote areas, Joyoung adopted a one-stop charitable model, setting up a dedicated charity team responsible for every step—from on-site school assessments and standardized kitchen design to procurement and installation of equipment, training, and full-chain support, ensuring kitchens were ready for immediate use.

For 14 years, Joyoung has helped nearly 1,500 rural schools build charity kitchens. Now, at least 500,000 students benefit daily, ensuring every child enjoys a nutritious and delicious lunch.

In 2003, "Shenzhou V" carried the first Chinese astronaut, Yang Liwei, into space. It was a moment of national celebration, watched by millions on television. At that time, Joyoung employees watching at home could never have imagined that, over a decade later, their products would accompany astronauts into space.

In 2014, Joyoung was selected by the national government to participate in the development of manned space kitchen facilities, helping to solve daily issues for astronauts in space. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0418%2F936d601cj00sc580x0069d000y200kjm.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg (Joyoung Space Kitchen Showroom)

In the space station, astronauts can gaze at the stars and travel through the heavens, yet even simple tasks like eating a hot meal or drinking warm water can be significant challenges.

For example, it previously took astronauts four hours just to cook an onion in space, and they could only drink cold water. Even getting a clean cup of warm water was problematic due to bacteria growing several times faster in space. Furthermore, drinking soy milk could cause gas due to the unique conditions of space.

After eight years of dedicated technological development, Joyoung successfully created the space kitchen in 2021, which was installed in the Chinese space station. With this space kitchen, astronauts can now enjoy a hot meal in just 40 minutes and have access to clean, 45-degree warm water at any time, as well as delicious soy milk, bringing them the taste of home even in space.

Joyoung’s passion for exploring the vastness of space ensures that Chinese people can enjoy a heartwarming meal no matter where they are, bringing a taste of earthly life to an altitude of 400,000 meters.
