On April 19th, the unveiling ceremony for the National Key Laboratory Alliance for Internal Combustion Power, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Joint Laboratory under the Chinese Society of Internal Combustion Engines, the Ammonia Engine Innovation Consortium, and the Hydrogen Engine Innovation Consortium took place in Tianjin. This event marks a significant milestone in the integration and collaborative development of China’s internal combustion engine industry and academia, and it also kicks off the 2024 World Internal Combustion Engine Conference.

The National Key Laboratory Alliance for Internal Combustion Power is led by Tianjin University and includes collaborations among six key national laboratories: the National Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Power, the National Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine and Power Systems, the National Key Laboratory of Smart Agriculture Power Equipment, the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Ship Engine Technologies, the National Key Laboratory of Vehicle Power Systems, and the National Key Laboratory of Multimodal Drive Systems Technology. The alliance aims to support the national "dual carbon" strategy, promote the high-quality development of China’s internal combustion power, create a platform for collaborative innovation, tackle core technological challenges in internal combustion power, and pursue a greener, more reliable, intelligent, and efficient path for the industry’s development. 6622703ee4b03b5da6d0d25d.jpg National Key Lab for Internal Combustion Engines Alliance Unveiled.

The China Society of Internal Combustion Engines' joint laboratory with Jilin University and Shandong Jingbo New Energy Holding Development Co., Ltd., will explore the operational model of collaborative labs among societies, enterprises, and universities to promote the coordinated development of fuels and internal combustion engines. In the future, the lab will jointly research key fundamental theories and core technologies in China's fuel and internal combustion engine sectors, address common challenges in the energy-saving and emission reduction through fuel-engine co-optimization, and drive the fuel and engine industries towards low-carbon and clean development by providing foundational technological support. 6622704fe4b03b5da6d0d25f.jpg The Joint Laboratory of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society and Jiboji University is unveiled.

The establishment of the Ammonia Engine Innovation Consortium and Hydrogen Engine Innovation Consortium by the China Internal Combustion Engine Society marks an important step towards achieving carbon neutrality in the internal combustion engine industry. It will be driven by industry demand, gathering resources and wisdom from all parties to jointly tackle key common technologies, establish relevant technical standards, and promote the advancement and industrialization of hydrogen and ammonia engine technologies. 66227081e4b03b5da6d0d263.jpg China Internal Combustion Engine Society Unveils Ammonia Engine Innovation Consortium. 66227060e4b03b5da6d0d261.jpg The Hydrogen Engine Innovation Consortium of the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society was officially launched. The establishment of four collaborative innovation platforms, as reported by the China Science Daily through the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society, will leverage synergies and advisory roles to further enhance communication and cooperation within China's internal combustion engine industry. This initiative aims to boost technological breakthrough capabilities and strategically plan for the future of low-carbon and zero-carbon engines in China. Together, they seek to drive innovation and development in internal combustion engine technology, facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the industry under the dual-carbon goals, and contribute wisdom and strength to China's energy transition and green development efforts.
