On April 3rd, Forbes released its 2024 Global Billionaires List, with a record-high 2,781 billionaires making the list this year, totaling a combined wealth of $14.2 trillion. According to the list, Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Group, retains his title as the world's richest person, with his personal fortune increasing by 10% from 2023 to $233 billion. s_2e14239f18a345f6bbdaab42900129d5.png Tesla CEO Elon Musk ranked second this time, with a personal wealth of approximately $195 billion. s_6fb355ecf3fd45a59e8930b41b2ab656.jpg While the growth compared to last year stands at 8%, it falls far short of his previous peak of $300 billion in personal wealth, largely due to the decline in Tesla's stock price.

For the third consecutive year, the number of mainland Chinese billionaires on the 2024 Forbes Global Billionaires List has declined.

Despite a decrease in the number of individuals making the list this year, mainland China still ranks second globally in terms of the number of billionaires, trailing only behind the United States.

The title of China's richest individual remains with Zhong Shanshan, founder of Nongfu Spring, a bottled water and tea beverage company listed in Hong Kong, for the fourth consecutive year.
