On April 12th, renowned leaker Onleaks unveiled the industrial design of the Sony Xperia 1 VI.
Compared to its predecessor, the Xperia 1 VI still adopts a design style with no notch or punch-hole on the front, but the body has significantly widened.
The Xperia 1 VI measures 161.9 x 74.5×8.4mm, with a screen size of 6.5 inches, marking a 3.5mm increase in width from its predecessor, the Xperia 1 V, which measured 165×71×8.3mm.
Reportedly, the Xperia 1 VI ditches the previously favored 21:9 cinematic display for a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, aligning more closely with competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Of significant note, the Xperia 1 VI moves away from the traditional 4K display, opting instead for a 2K resolution, signifying a major shift in Sony's recent mobile screen strategy.
In terms of core specs, expect the Xperia 1 VI to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform and a triple rear camera setup. Additionally, retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top remains a noteworthy detail.
