On April 8th, according to an official announcement from FAW Frevdi, the inauguration ceremony for the mass production of the PA75 powertrain battery project of FAW Frevdi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully held on the 3rd of this month.
Mr. Du Weiming, CEO of FAW Powertrain Product Line, stated that the PA75 project battery is the first rechargeable, replaceable, and upgradable battery on the Hongqi HME battery platform. The mass production of the PA75 project is also a milestone for FAW Hongqi.
According to previous reports, in 2024, FAW Hongqi will launch approximately 16 new vehicles, including 4 pure electric models and 12 fuel and hybrid models, covering a variety of vehicles such as light commercial vehicles, SUVs, sedans, and MPVs.
Data shows that the power battery company "FAW Frevdi" is jointly established by FAW and BYD, with a total investment of 13.5 billion CNY, covering an area of 800,000 square meters, with a total capacity of 45GWh, and initial construction of 15GWh.
Adopting BYD's most advanced blade battery technology and combining it with a design scheme with high integration without modules, it perfectly balances the three major difficulties of power battery safety, high endurance, and long life. The first batch of products will be equipped with the new Hongqi pure electric vehicles.
The project started in September 2022, with a total construction period of 344 days. After completion, it can meet the configuration needs of 600,000 electric vehicles annually.
