Farewell to Status Symbols! iPhone Sales in China Decline by 16% Year-on-Year: Domestic Brands like Huawei and Xiaomi Gain Favor

On April 10th, it was reported that Apple has long dominated the high-end smartphone market in China. Its superior performance and status as a symbol of identity were once unparalleled.

However, with the continuous development of domestic smartphones, this situation has gradually begun to change, even showing a trend of overturning. Increasing evidence suggests that the appeal of the iPhone is diminishing for many Chinese consumers.

According to a report by the foreign institution UBS, in February of this year, Apple's iPhone sales in China declined by 16% year-on-year, while Huawei's sales almost doubled.

In addition to Huawei, Chinese domestic smartphone brands such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO continue to eat away at Apple's original market share.

For a long time, China has been the second most important market for the iPhone after the United States, accounting for about 20% of Apple's sales. However, Apple's dominant position in the Chinese smartphone market may now be affected by a series of factors, including slowing consumer spending and Huawei's recovery.

The senior director of market research firm TechInsights stated, "Apple's golden age in China has come to an end, which not only involves consumer choices but also the overall market landscape." s_9e353a3250e3438da4d05ca3c86ff713.jpg
