On April 15th, according to CCTV News, the China Nuclear Energy Association released the "China Nuclear Energy Development Report 2024" blue book, summarizing and analyzing the current development status of China's nuclear energy industry.

It shows that as of now, China has 26 nuclear power units under construction, maintaining its world-leading position in the number of units under construction.

In 2023, China approved 5 new nuclear power projects and started construction on 5 new nuclear power units.

As of now, China has 26 nuclear power units under construction with a total installed capacity of 30.3 million kilowatts, continuing to rank first in the world.

China's nuclear power generation continues to grow, reaching 433.371 billion kilowatt-hours in 2023, ranking second globally.

Compared to coal-fired power generation, China's nuclear power generation in 2023 was equivalent to reducing the combustion of standard coal by over 130 million tons.

Meanwhile, the safety of China's nuclear power operation continues to maintain an internationally advanced level, with 33 units achieving a perfect score in the World Association of Nuclear Operators' comprehensive index in 2023.

Currently, the proportion of perfect scores for China's nuclear power units is higher than that of major nuclear power countries such as the United States and Russia. b9b2bfd9-b238-4915-a3d0-898e6a521eec.jpg
