Experts Share Clever Tips to Boost Beef Cattle Farming

In order to further implement the integration of new productive forces in beef cattle development and support the successful implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in Yibin, experts have been mobilized. Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee Organization Department organized the "Technology Goes to the Countryside" beef cattle industry technical service team (Team 75), led by Associate Professor Wang Jie from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Associate Professor Wang Ya from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Li Ying, along with livestock expert Hong Ning from the Sichuan Provincial Livestock Bureau, to conduct beef cattle industry technical training and services in Gongxian County.

The team successively visited the Niu Dadao Cattle Farm and Pasture Planting Base in Luobiao Town, as well as the Randeyong Cattle Farm in Shangluo Town, to conduct research and provide technical guidance. The experts analyzed various aspects of beef cattle production, such as feed ingredients, beef cattle breeding, and pasture planting, and offered many clever suggestions.

To address the current issue of low beef prices, the team of experts proposed the rational utilization of local coarse feed resources and the adoption of a "low-cost" beef cattle farming strategy. They cleverly suggested using techniques like distiller's grains and rice feeding to increase the cost-effectiveness of beef cattle production. The team guided the construction of a 240-acre pasture base in Minquan Village, Luobiao Town, recommending the clever use of a combined planting and breeding cycle model to boost the production of royal bamboo grass. This not only addresses the issue of cattle manure emissions but also promotes ecological environmental protection. Subsequently, the team went to the Livestock and Aquaculture Development Center of Gongxian County Agricultural and Rural Bureau to conduct a beef cattle breeding technology training and exchange conference. Wang Jie first introduced the methods and paths of integrating beef cattle breeding with new quality productivity, emphasizing the importance of technical training for high-quality cattle breeders, and promoting the development of the beef cattle industry through the clever use of new technologies and models. Li Ying explained in a simple and easy-to-understand way the selection of maize varieties for feed, planting conditions, production techniques, and key points to pay attention to.

During the meeting, the 75th Beef Cattle Service Team presented beef cattle breeding technical manuals and maize planting technical manuals to the breeders. Wang Ya suggested that breeders must make good use of existing resources and technologies for disease prevention and control, especially emphasizing the organic integration of various aspects of the animal biosafety system.

The services provided by this expert technical team have boosted the confidence of breeding companies and breeders in beef cattle breeding, providing strong technical support for the development of the beef cattle industry in Gongxian County.
